In this lecture, Sona Dilanyan, a visiting fellow through the Hrant Dink Foundation's Turkey-Armenia Fellowship Scheme and a member of the "Imagine Center for Conflict Transformation" will explore the idea of journalistic credibility, particularly how notions such as bias and objectivity serve to promote or exclude certain conflict narratives. The presentation will touch upon some of the existing criticisms of journalistic objectivity and discuss alternative media frameworks for a more conflict-sensitive reporting. Examples of textual news analysis from the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict will also be presented.
